Licensure
and Insurance
Licensed
contractors are regulated to protect the consumer. They
are also bonded and must complete four years of journey or higher
experience level in their craft. If your landscape costs more
than $500, the contractor must be licensed by the California
State License Board. To verify that your contractor has a
valid license, contact the board at 1-800-321-2752
or go to www.cslb.ca.gov.
Contractors must demonstrate a minimum level of skill, competency,
and financial responsibility to be licensed. Lindquist Landscapes
CA contractor's license is 592265 - look us up!
California's
cities and counties require business licenses for firms
operating within their jurisdiction as well. Lindquist Landscapes
has a business license in the cities of Arcata, Eureka, and Trinidad.
Contractors
must also provide workers' compensation insurance for
their employees. Workers' compensation protects you from liability
in case a worker employed by a contractor is injured on your property.
Along with worker's compensation, Lindquist Landscapes has general
liability insurance for $1 million that protects you against calamities
such as floods or landslides caused by construction. Lindquist
Landscapes also possesses automobile insurance for all of our
company vehicles.
Unlicensed
individuals are typically not bonded and may not have
liability or workers' compensation insurance, thereby exposing
you to financial responsibility if an injury, fire, or other property
damage occurs. Lindquist Landscapes encourages you to please take
the time to confirm licensure and insurance before hiring a landscape
contractor. If you have any questions about licensure or insurance,
please don't hesitate to call.
